The story behind the song

Hand Over Head is a song I wrote between the years 1989 and 1990. It appears on my first 4AD album, ‘Love’ (1991). The phrase ‘hand over head’ is an old saying. According to the Merriam-Webster, it means to do something, “without heed of what one is really doing : rashly, recklessly.”
